What You should Know about Sammy the Silverspoon Stern
A campaign built on exaggerations
A campaign built on exaggerations
The voters of Palm Beach County deserve to be provided with accurate and truthful information on all of the candidates for State Attorney. After campaigning for the last few months and reading some of the articles and endorsements, it became clear that the public is being mislead and misinformed, particularly when it comes to the level of experience and qualifications regarding Republican Candidate Sammy the Silverspoon Stern.
Stern’s campaign suggests he is a candidate with significant courtroom experience in both state and federal court. Stern is also touting his work as a trial advocacy professor at the University of Miami School of Law and the University of Virginia School of Law, yet a simple web search uncovers said claims are nothing more than misleading embellishments.
State Prosecutor Experience is short and his ties to Palm Beach County are minimal at best. Despite thorough search, not a single case could be found that Stern worked on in Palm Beach County since leaving the State Attorney’s office in 2014.
Stern’s experience as a federal prosecutor is also strikingly exaggerated, marked by a start involving political favors and a shady tumultuous end, after only one year.

Stern’s alleged experience as a trial advocacy professor is again another example of an exaggerated and confounding attempt at bolstering his qualifications. A search of University of Miami School of Law’s Litigation Skills Faculty and University of Virginia’s School of Law’s faculty is devoid of Stern’s name, nor do full time faculty members know of Stern.
Upon deeper dive, Stern could only be found as a past adjunct lecturer for a short course (spanning only 2 days) as part of an elective for an International Arbitration LLM at the University of Miami . UM Law Course Catalog :: View Course - ADVANCED ORAL ADVOCACY IN INTERNATIONAL ARBITRATION (miami.edu) Stern’s suggestion of his teaching trial advocacy at the University of Virginia School of Law is an even greater example of his rhetoric. Stern cannot be located having any affiliation to the University, but for the continuing legal education program of which his father is a founder using the School of Law’s facilities while they are closed to law students for the winter break to host a 5 day seminar. Providing false and misleading information to voter’s is indicative of the plague politics continues to be on our justice system. False representations are indicative of someone who lacks the proper experience and qualitities necessary for the State Attorney position. The danger of this misinformation is further exacerbated by local newspapers and media providing absolutely no fact checking to give veracity and reliance on the information they publish. The information provided here was easily obtained online by simply verifying the candidates representations and information that they have presented. The accurate, correct information about Stern’s actual experience and career is clearly insufficient to be the next Palm Beach County State Attorney and from Stern’s own exaggerations and misrepresentations, it’s crystal clear that even Stern knows he is not the candidate for the job
